MANDEVILLE AND RANGIORA DRAINAGE BOARD.
A meeting was held on Tuesday, at the Road Board office, Rangiora. Present— Messrs Blackett (chairman), Duncan, and Young. A letter was read from Mr O. C. Bowen, stating that he had urged the importance of having the Commissioners appointed to consider the drainage of the district, and that Mr Rolleston had promised to have the same attended to. A petition from fifteen ratepayers was read, asking to have two openings across Mr R. Chapman’s run to relieve the water in flood time. Consideration of the petition was deferred. Tenders were ordered to be invited for raising the embankment from the skew bridge to the railway bridge, along the main drain. Accounts to tbe amount of £96 2s were passed. The surveyor reported that the accounts had been duly audited by Mr Ollivier.
