ROAD BOARDS.
AVON. Present —The Chairman, Messrs Moor, Flesher, and Philpott. The report was read and considered. The clerk wag instructed to write to the works committee, City Council, requesting them to reduce the width of that portion of the footpath on North town Belt, between Colombo and North streets, and have the same shingled. The clerk was instructed to invite tenders for screening shingle at the Board’s pit. Letter was received from local Board of Health. The clerk was instructed to refer them to former reply. Letter was received from Mr G. E. Way. The clerk was instructed to reply. Letter was received from Commissioner of R always, re crossings at Bligh’s and Sawyers’ Arms roads. Letter was received from Mr E. J. Lee, relative to forming a portion of Bealey’s road. R-solved—- “ That tenders be called for forming a length of seventeen chains.” Letter was received from City Council, relative to side channels on North-east Belt. The clerk was instructed to reply. The clerk was instructed to call tenders for supply of 300 bushels oats. Tenders were received for shingling, and those of Knowles accepted. Accounts to the amount of £306 2s Id were passed and ordered to be paid. LINCOLN. An ordinary meeting of this Board was held at the district office on the sth inst. Present—Messrs Peryman (chairman), Maskrey, and Healey. A letter was read from Springs Road Board, containing copy of resolution agreeing to the suggestion of the Board with reference to the future maintenance of the boundary roads. The clerk was instructed to give notice to Mr Julian that unless his contract eastward of Dawson’s Creek, on White and Leadley’s road, was completed on or bsfore the 19i.h inst., the Board would finish the work by day labor at his coat. Authority was given the surveyor to procure shingle for repairs of the Drain road, and instructions were given to invite tenders for the cleansing of the River Halswell along tbe Little River district boundary. Tenders were opened for the leasing of the reserves in the district, and the following were accepted : —No. 388, M. Brown ; No. 217, J. Connelly; No, 218, J. Hampton After other routine business had been transacted, and the monthly paysheet passed for pavment, the Board adjourned to March 4th, at 1 30 p.m
