NEW BAPTIST CHURCH, SYDENHAM.
It haring been decided to form anew Baptist church in connection with the services lat< ly held at the Oddfellows’ Hall, Montreal street south, a meeting was held on 'Wednesday last, with this object. la the ab-eice of the Rev. Charles Dfilaston, at whose instigation this movement has been inaugurated, the Rev. T. W. Smyth, of Greendale, gave an address to the newly-formed church, who unanimously gave a call to the Rev. T. Anson Oato to become their pastor, in connection with the Lincoln road church. Officers were duly elected, and it was arranged that the Rev. Mr Oato should conduct the first morning service to-morrow, the Sunday school, which now numbers about forty, being continued in the afternoon, the usual Evangelistic service on the Sunday evenings, and that a prayer meeting bo held every Tuesday evening. The locality chosen is considered very suitable for the formation of a church.
