[Via Auckland.] SYD» EF, December 4. The Bushrangers. Scott, alias Moonlight, has applied for a postponement of the trial, on the grounds that the proceedings of the Kellys' had greatly excited public feeling against him. Richard Thatcher made a declaration accompanying Scott's affidavit, setting forth that he had just come from Victoria, and that "he found public feeling unduly incensed against the bushrangers. Erom New Caledonia deplorable news has been received of the Guano Islands near there, the men employed being left there without provisions, except birds' eggs and turtles. The manager made a journey of a hundred aad ton miles in a small boat, and got a temporary supply, and came en to New "Caledonia for further relief, when he found the company's rhequo stopped, and the Government of Caledonia prohibited the removal of anything from the islands owing to the arrears being unpaid.
