A horrible double murder and suicide ha/* been committed by Rodolph Miller, about eighteen years of ago. It is supposed that he has killed his father and mother and then 1 himself. When the albrm was given some people found Mrs Miller lying on the floor with her throat cut from ear to ear, and quif:o' dead. Mr Millerj. an old man, who was ill in bed, was found with his throat also cut from ear to ear, and besides he had four large- deep parallel gashes on the side of his head, and several large- bruises. It is supposed he received the blow from the butt end of a gun, which was found newly discharged and broken in two lying on the floor, with blood and hair on the stock. It is supposed that the gun was first discharged at the old man, and then he was struck with it. On the back door steps young Miller was found lying on hie bock, with his throat also cut from ear to ear. [feoh ope own coeebbpchdent,] TIMARU, November 19. Two vessels are on the roadstead, the John Watson and Aberdeen. The John Watson is dragging, and has been signalled to go to sea, but has not replied. DUNEDIN, November 19. Magisterial. John Winton has been committed for trial, bail being allowed. Two men were fined forty shillings and costs at the City Court for obstructing the footway by loitering. AUCKLAND, November 18. Mr Peacock was re-elected Mayor, without opposition. Robert Grabam is petitioning the Govern, ment for redress for losses sustained through his removal from Rotorua. The charge of forging a bill of sale against Quintal, the solicitor at Tauranga, was proceeded with to-day. The magistrate expressed the opinion that no case whatever had been shown so far.
