STOKE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

This body met on the Bth of October, all the members being present. letters were received from the Board forwarding payments for the quarter ending September. Mr Kay reported as follows : —" Number on the roll, 43 5 average attendanoe, 33 ; the highest on any one day being 38." The committee considered the attendance satisfactory, the number of children on the roll having increased. Mr Kay wrote asking the committee to reoommend the Board to allow Miss Kay to give instructions two hours each day, to enable him (Mr Kay) to bestow more attention upon children in the higher standards. The committee decided to forward the application to the Board for their approval. Several accounts were ordered to be paid, and some minor matters attended to.
