[PEB PEESB AGENCY.] Nelson, February 26. Arrangements in connection with the Rifl t Association meeting are proceeding favorably. Several representatives have arrived, whilst most from the North will arrive on Thursday night, and from the irouth on Satur ay morning. An influential reception committee has been formed. The town corps were to have paraded and received the visitors, but owing to the inconvenient hours the steamers will arrive the idea has been abandoned. Invebcargill, February 26. _ The band gives a concert in behalf of the Kaitangata relief fund ; the gas, theatre, and advertising is given free. The Rev. Dr. Copland missed the train, and did not give his lecture re Bible reading in schools in consequence. The first Presbyterian Church was crowded, and many were turned away. Great interest on the subject is manifested here Three Volunteer representatives go from Southland to Nelson. A quarter of an acre somewhat outside the business centre of tue town was sold yesterday for .£2OOO.
