Sydney, February 25. There was a holiday on the event of unveiling the statue of Captain Cook. A new band of bushrangers have made a raid near Balranald. They were identified and pursued. Copper is at 63 to 64; tin at 60 to 62. The Argonaut’s wheat fetched 47s 6d. A demonstration dinner to the Q-overnor on his departure is being arranged. A match between a combined team of the English and Melbourne cricketers is pro oeeding. A hundred thousand were present at the Cook ceremonial. AUSTRALIAN NEWS. [Via Hokitika.l Hokitika, February 26. Arrived Claud Hamilton. All important news has been anticipated by late arrivals. Melbourne. W. J. Clarke, President of the Exhibition Commission, gave a dinner last night in the Town Hall. The Governor was present and about 400 guests. Th i weather is very warm. Rain fell in some parts of the country, it was much wanted.
