Fire at Nelson

N ® son, October 28. A fire early yesterday morning completely destroyed Darrell's fruiterer’s shop in bridge street. The building was insured for .£2OO, and the contents for i 1125 in the Standard. Adjoining was 1’ dwards and Co.’s bonded store containing goods insured in various offices for =£lUO. Ihe wall and part of the roof wore burnt, but the rest of the building was saved by the exertions of the brigade. The st .ck was not very much injured.

Wellington October 28. The nominations for the Wellington Gold Cup of sjo sovs, with a gold cup of the value of 100 sovs, close on Ist November.
