PARLIAMENTARY ITEMS.

[By Telegraph.] [prom the correspondents of the press] THE GOVERNMENT MEASURES. The Premier, Treasurer, Colonial Secretary, and a number of leading Government supporters met to consider the future policy during the session. Alter sonic discussion, it was arranged that the Government should withdraw the following measures at a convenient juncture, when such offers: —Friendly Societies, Local Judicature, Repeal, Executive Council, Licensing, and Bribery Bills. Other Bills of secondary importance may or may not bo proceeded with according to circumstances. They resolved to press forward the following measures : —Electoral, Companies Duty, Beer Tax, Customs Tariff, and Public Revenues, Railways, Native Lands, Special Powers, and Contracts, Juries, Sheep, Disqualification No. 2. The passing of the Companies Duty Bill is very doubtful. If it passes at all, it is certain to be severely mauled, and the revenue from it will not exceed £SOOO. Many members say it will be useless, and not worth fighting about.
