POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations ir-Tr> AYi gEpTEMBEE 8# For Otago, overland, at 11 a.m. For Wellington, Westport, and Greymouth, per Luna, at 9.30 a.m.; late letters, 10.10 a.m.; railway Btation, 10.30 a.m. train. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 7. For Wellington and Kaikoura, per Tui. ALTERATION ANDACCELEEATION OF MAILS. Special mails for Ashburtori, Timaru, Oamarn, Port Chalmers, and Duuedin will close on Thursday, sth inst., at 6 p.m. Notice.—On and after Saturday. 7th mst., mails for despatch by exprtss train will close daily at 730 a in for the following offices :—Rakaia, Ashburton, Temnka, Timaru, St. Audrews, Waimate Junction, Waimate. Waitaki, Oamarn, Falmerston, Wiiikouaiti, Fort Chalmers, and Dunedin. The Lyttelton mails now closing at 3.20 p.m., Will close at 3.30 p.m. daily. The mails for Temnka. Asbburtou, Timaru, Kaianoi. Rangiora, Oxford, Fernside, Leeston, and Southbridge, now closing at 3.20 p.m., will close at 4 p.m. daily. The next English mail, via San Francisco, will close on Friday, Chief Postmaster.
