The Castoms duties collected here on Tuesday, May 21st, amounted to £of3 ISsSd. The items were as follows :—Spirits, £382 17s 2d; wine, £l7 5s 5d ; tobacco, £97 10s ; sugar, £9S 3s 4d; ad valorem, £1 lis ; goods by weight, £l3 0s 9d. PEOPEETY SALES. Mr Charles Clark held a sale of property yesterday, when a number of lots were quitted. Three sections fronting on Hereford and Manchester Streets, brought as follows: —No. 1,33 ft. frontage on Manchester and GGft. on Hereford street, brought £62 j>er foot. No. 3, with a frontage of 33ft. on Manchester street, £35 per foot. No. 4, with a frontage of 33ft. on Hereford street, £3B per foot. A property at Hoon Hay, comprising house, outbuildings, &c , and seven acres of land, brought £995. Part of town section 709, having a frontage of (38 links to Gloucester street, with a depth of 56 links, with shop and house, let at £7B, was withdrawn at £GSO, £BOO being bid for the owner. No bid was made for the leasehold of the Waikuku Wool Scouring Works. Eighteen sections in the township of Coalgate brought an average of £lO per acre. Mr W. Gosling has sold by private treaty one quarter-acre section of laud, having frontage (with house on it) facing Cambridge terrace; also cottages on the Kilmoro street frontage, the land running through to the latter street, to Mr G. Gould for the sum of £1250. This section adjoin 3 Mr Gould's present long frontage on Cambridge terrace and Victoria street.
