The Customs duties collected here on Friday and Saturday, the :-9th and 30th March respectively, ■were Friday—£s72 17s 4d j Saturday—£l93 17s 4d. The items were—Friday—Spirits, £317 2s Id; wine, £36 5s 7d; beer, £8 8s 9d; tobacco, £2+; tea, £l4 Jss; nd valorem, £62 8s; other duties. £llO 7s lid. Saturday—Spirits, £IOB 4s 8d; wine, £4; beer, £5; tobacco, £3017s 6d; sugar, £39 8s 2d jad valorem, £6 6s j other duties. Is. At the sitting of the Waste* Lands Board held yesterday, April Ist, 5205 acres 3 roods were disposed of. realising £10,411105. The land is situated as under;—Ashley, 41 acres; Selwyn, 874 acres, Akaroa, 440 acres; Ashburton, 3064 acres: Geraldine, 126 acres, 3 roods; and Waimata, 660 acres. LYTTELTON CUSTOMS RETURNS. The following telegram has bean received from London by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency . London, March 30. Wool—Competition is decreasing, and market is weaker For medium and inferior greasy, and medium and inferior clothing washed, the,, market is easier; for superior greasy, and superior combing washed, firm. Scoured, market is unchanged. Advices of short supplies from Australia have been received. Up-to date 183,000 bales have been sold. The sales will close on the sth proximo. ■ Tallow is dull of sale. Mutton S9s 6d, andjbeef 38b 6d per cwt. , . Wheat—Market firm. Californian harvest is abundant. Adelaide is worth 64b, and New Zealand 52s per 4961 b.
