Tho revenue collected at the Custom House on Friday, February 15th, amounted to £1731 6s 3d. The items were Spirits, £3OB Os 3d: wine, £lO 2s lOd; ale (in bulk), £5; tobacco, £265s ; cigars, £3l 6s 9d; tea, £lllss ; sugar, 4s 8d; goods by weight, £264 13s 3d; ad valorem, £934 14s; other duties, £lO9 3s 6d. COEN EXCHANGE. The following is tho report for the week ending Saturday, February 16th : Wheat—A very limited business has been done during the week. Unusually high rates ruled at the opening of the season for pressing local wants. The export value, at which buyers are ready to operate, is considerably below last week’s qnotn. tions, so much so that sellers are at present disinclined to do business. During the week medium samples have been sold to millers for immediate requirements, as high as 4s 4sd. For really prime eamnles 4s 6d has been offered without leading to business. Lower rates mnst rule before export orders can be effected. Oats—There is a very strong demand. Sales have been made for choice samples at 3s 6d; extensive orders are still unexecuted at 3s 4d for export. Barley, malting—Tho demand for barley in good condition is very brisk. Sales have taken place at 4s Bd. For an extra prime sample 5s has been offered and refused. Bine Peas—Sales have been freely made at Ss 7d. Gross seed—Rye-grass is very firm at last week’s quotations, 6s 6d, for first-class samples. Inferior samples are not in demands. Potatoes—The sale pending referred to in last week’s report fell through. Large lines have been sold during the week for forward delivery at 45s Ser ton. Higher rates are freely offered for immeiate requirements. The demand for export ii very active. Butter-Sales are reported early in the week at 9d. For well-prepared butter, export orders are still unexecuted at last quotations, lOd per lb.
