The revenue collected at the Customs on Thursday amounted to £498 Os 6d. The following were the items Wine and spirits, £328 16s 2d ; tobacco, £81; tea, £5 10s j'sugar, £47 Os 4d; drapery, £2B 16s; jewellery, £3 18s; sundries, £3. At the sittings of the Waste Lands Board on Thursday 3604 acres 3 roods were disposed of, realising the sum of £7209 10s. The land was situated as follows: Waimate, 375 acres; Selwyn, 300 acres 3 roods; Ashley, 518 acres; Ashburton, 2411 acres.
