Cameron, schooner, 41 tons, Ascnniau, lor Leßou’s Bay. Master, agent. The s.s. Taranaki arrived at 12.30 p.m. to-day. She is commanded by Captain Anderson this trip, Captain Malcolm having gone up the West Coast. She sails North to-night. The s.s. Albion was not signalled when our express left port at 1 p.m. to-day. . The schooner Maud Graham, Captain Jorgenson, left Pictou on Saturday, October 6th, and cleared the Sound next day with a strong southerly breeze. Passed Cape Campbell on Wednesday at 9 a.m., the wind being N.W., and continuing so till Thursday, when it changed to S.W., lasting till arrival in harbor at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. The captain reports that the schooner Alert was loading for this port when he left. The Alert leaves Picton to-day with a load of timber for this port. ...... The Flora completed her loading last mgbt. The barque Dragon has been chartered by the N.Z.S.Co. to proceed to Napier, to load for London. She will probably sail on Monday. The Bohycito will be all out to-day at noon. STRANDING OF THE LIZZIE GUY. The Lizzie Gny went ashore yesterday on the Hokitika bar whilst being towed out by the tug Lioness. Her cargo of timber had to he thrown overboard, hut we hear it was insured. The telegram received does not state whether the vessel’s hull has suffered much. A SHIP CAPSIZED. A telegram from Calcutta announces that the British ship County of Stirling, which sailed from Calcutta on the 10th hist,, has capsized at Futtah, at the mouth of the Hooghly. _ She was bound for Hull, with a valuable cargo of jute, kc., valued at £30,000. The mate and four of the crew (names unknown) were drowned, hut the captain and the rest of the crew have been lauded at Calcutta. The County of Stirling was a fine composite ship of 996 tons net, 1041 gross. She was built at Glasgow in 1868, was yellow metalled last year, and was classed A lat Lloyd’s for fourteen years. Her owners were Messrs B. and J. Craig, of Glasgow, and she was worth £13,000.
