Jockey Club Handicap, 150 sovs ; distance two miles. Firetail, Ada, and Opawa showed in front on entering the straight the first time. Bide-a-wee and Opawa raced each other past the stand on the second round, and then kept together till the rise of the hill the last time, when Bide-a-wce held slightly the lend, which ho maintained till half-way up the straight, when he swerved across the course through distress, but his jockey held him, and he came in and beat Opawa by a head for first place. The owners of Opawa and Elsa, who was third, have lodged a protest for crossing.
