1.0.G.T. PICNIC.
Tliis event came off to-day at Taylor’s Gardens, Lincoln road. A procession of about 150 sisters and brothers was formed at the Templar Hall, and headed by a brass band and banner, they marched to the gardens, where they were joined by a large number from all parts of the district. At least 350 were on the grounds during the afternoon. The cricket match was Town v Country, a one innings match, and resulted as follows : —Town, 49, Fisher being top score for 18 ; and the Country, 57, playing thirteen men. Brown made the top score of 25. At the same time a variety of sports were indulged in under the superintendence of Mr S. P. Andrews. Up to three o’clock the following events had been got off:— One Hundred Yards Race—Templars only — Forest ... ... ... ... 1 Ritchie ... ... ... ... ... 2 One Hundred Yards Race—All comers.
