AMUSEMENTS.

LYDIA HOWARDS TROUPK. There was a fair attendance at tire Music Hall last night, when the Lydia Howarde Troupe presented “Fra Diavolo ” and “ The Swiss Swains ” to an enthusiastic audience. The pieces went capitally, although the indisposition of Miss Nye prevented her from contributing the music usually rendered by her. Miss Navaro, as the dashing, rollicking, but ever courteous, brigand captain, played with great spirit, and was loudly cheered. The duet “ The moon has raised her lamp ” was very nicely given by Miss Navaro and Mr Cary, and greatly applauded, whilst the other music incidental to the burlesque went well. Messrs Power and Towle (especially in the scene where they discover their chief) played remarkably well, as also did the other members of the company, “The Swiss Swains” kept the house in continuous laughter, and was well

enacted. To-night the company appear at Lyttelton in “ Lucia di Lammermoor,” and to-morrow evening at Kaiapoi. On Saturday night they again appear at the Music Hall, when the new burlesque of “ The Three Musketdears ” will be produced for the first time. DE MUJRSKA CONCERTS. The fourth operatic concert of the series will be given this evening at the Music Hall, and judging from the tempting programme provided, together with the fact that it is late train night, wo anticipate a very large assembly. Amongst the items set down, Mdlle do Mnrska will sing for the first time in Christchurch the grand aria “The Queen of Night.” and “ Ter Sempre.” Mdlle will also take part in the laughing trio with Signori Kosnati and Susini; also in the comic operatic scene from “ Don Pasquale” with Signor Susini. Maestro Strauss Ilia will also introduce his famous piano solo “ The Bonny Hills of Scotland,” and a violin solo from “Lombardi,” which, in itself, is a grand treat. Mdlle do Murska’s farewell concert and benefit will take place tomorrow evening.
