FOUND DROWNED.

Shortly before one o’clock to-day a a person passing over Colombo street bridge observed the body of a man in a standing position in the river. On being informed of the circumstance, Sergeant Beck went to the spot, and with assistance took the body out, which had the appearance of having been in the water for several days, Deceased had been a man about sft Sin in height, stout, sandy hair, red beard and moustache, dressed in a grey tweed suit, the jacket being the kind known as sleeve vest. A handkerchief and pipe were the only articles found on the body, which was removed to the morgue waiting identification.
