POST-OFFICE NOTICES.

Mails close at Chief Post Office for the following places, as under, subject to necessary alterations: — Thursday, June 1. Mails per s.s. Australia will close as under : For the TT n ited Kingdom, via San Francisco, at 1.20 p.m. Late letters, 1.40 p.m. For the Continent of Europe, America, Canada, Sandwich, and Fiji Islands, &c, at 1 p.m. Late letters, 1.20 p.m. For Northern ports of New Zealand, at 1.20 p.m. ; late letters, 1.40 p.m. Registered letters and money orders, at noon. Books and newspapers, 12.30 p.m. Late letters for the above mails can be posted in the guard's van at the railway station 2 30 p.m. train. For the United Kingdom, &c, via Brindisi and Southampton, will be dispatched on the 3rd of June. J. J. FITZGIBBON, Chief Postmaster.
