H.M.S, Nymph had returned from her trip round the islands. At Faroe, Captain Suttie fractured two ribs by falling out of his hammock. On the 27th Sub-Lieutenant Walker died of brain disease. Ship’s armorer Robinson also died from cancer. NEW CALEDONIA. Auckland, March 18. Arrived —Sissy, from New Caledonia. The Auckland schooner Peerless has been sold for £2075 to Messrs Henry Ginson and Morgan, of Noumea. In consequence of letters sent to officials, asserting that the captain of the Auckland steamer Southern Cross intended effecting the escape of political prisoners, an injunction was issued preventing her plying on the coast. The crew have returned in the Sissy. Letters have been sent which it is hoped will remove the embargo,
