O.R.C. DOUBLE SOULLS. On Saturday afternoon the double scull races for two engraved pewters were pulled off over a course from Butterfield's to Herdson’s. Six crews entered ; the rowing was pretty fair, but only the last two heats were in any way close ones. FIRST HEAT, Tui, north bank—Johnston, bow ; Feldwick, stroke ; Day, cox 1 Moa, south bank—Jacobsen, bow, Seatell, stroke ; Dixon, cox 2 The boats got away well together; Feldwick soon took the lead; Searell gave up after passing Pratt’s. SECOND HEAT, Moa, south bank—Lean, bow ; Fooks, stroke ; McDougall, cox 1 Tui, north bank—Caverhill, bow ; McLean, stroke; Mann, cox 2 Soon after starting Caverhill came to grief with his sculls, and Fooks got a good lead. McLean did his best to overtake him but failed, the Moa winning by about four lengths. THIRD HEAT. Moa, south bank—Martin, bow ; Lanauze, stroke ; McDougall, cox 1 Tui, north bank — Winter, bow *, Brewster, stroke ; Mann, cox 2 Lanauze got away quickest, and pulling a longer stroke than Brewster, won by two lengths,

FOURTH HEAT. Moa, south bank —Johnston, bow ; Feldwick, stroke ; McDougall, cox ••• 1 Tui, north bank —Lean, bow ; Books, stroke ; Day, cox .2 A good start was made, but the boys in the Tui soon drew ahead, and won a fair race by about five lengths. FIFTH HEAT, Tui, north bank—Martin, bow ; Lanauze, stroke ; McDougall, cox 1 Moa, south bank—McLean, bow; Brewster, stroke : Mann, cox ... ... ••• 2 The boats kept well together until after passing Pratt’s corner ; Lanauze then drew away aud won by two lengths. SIXTH HEAT. Tui, north bank—Lean, bow; Books, stroke; Day, cox... 1 Moa, south bank —Martin, bow ; Lanauze, stroke ; McDougall, cox 2 Books got away quickest, and led by a length to the corner below Pratt’s, where Lanauze, putting on a spurt, drew even ,* the boats kept together for some time, but Books being in the best condition got ahead and won by three lengths.
