CHRISTCHURCH. Monday, March 13. The following inebriates were fined T. Johnson, ss; John Bowman, 5s and cabhire; John Morris, 20; A. McKenzie, 20s; and A. Saunder, ss, Peter Thomson was sentenced to seven days’ hard labour for vagrancy. LYTTELTON. (Before W. Donald, Esq, R.M.) Saturday, March 11. Absent Without Leave. Thomas Brannigan was charged by Captain Priest, of the brigantine Circe, with this offence. Accused was ordered on board. Civil Case.— Wood, Shand and Cov J. B. Mitchell, master of the ship Langstoae, claim £ll Os 9d, for bottled ale short delivered ; defendant paid £1 into Court in satisfaction of claim ; Mr Garrick appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Nalder for defendant. After hearing the evidence of Captain Mitchell, the case was adjourned till Monday, at 2 p.m.
