CRICKET.
MAREIED Y SINGLE. This match.was continued on Saturday last by Barker and Neilson resuming their places at the wickets to the bowling of Sweet and Dickinson. The former soon retired, having made 27 by three 3’s and five 2’s, &c. Neilson was soon afterwards bowled by Sweet. 6 for 203; 7 for 204. He made 46 by good play, and amongst his hits were a 4, three B’s, and ten 2’s. J. Horner, jun, was the only other player who reached double figures, making 18 not out, The innings closed for the respectable total of 240. The Married then went in, but with the exception of Alpe, who made 13 in his usual careful style, no one made any stand, and at the fall of the last wicket the score stood at 29. This necessitated a follow-on, when they were a little more successful ; Corfe and Souter being not out for 18 and 10 respectively. When time was called the score stood at 42 for the loss of three wickets. The bowling of G. Frith and Moore for the Single was very good. The following is the score : Single— First Innings. A. M.
