BOARD OF CONSERVATORS.

The usual meeting of the- Board was held yesterday at noon. Present—Messrs R.J. S. Harman (in the chair),' Fisher, Tosswill, his Worship the Mayor, and the Hon Peacock. The chairman reported that the Mayor and himself had, in accordance with the resolution of the Board, deposited, the-accumulated sinking fund at 6 per cent interest temporarily at the Union Bank of Australia, until it had arrived at a sufficient sum for the Board to invest it in the purchase of General Government debentures. The deposit note was in his custody at his office, and he would like to know the wishes of the Board as to the custody of this and other documents of the Board. The Board might approve of a box being obtained, with two double locks, one key to be kept by the Mayor of Chris'church for the time, and the other by himself. The Board approved of the suggestion of the chairman, the box as proposed to be kept in the City. Council safe. ■ A proof of the lithographic map of the protective works in the South Waimakariri district was laid on the table. It was resolved that, the dry channels should be colored brown, •and -those water flowed blue, and that a copy should be sent to each Road Board in the district.
