Mr Banks said that as he was about to pay a visit to England, he wished to resign the post of vice-chairman and a member of the committee.

The Chairman said he had received a letter from Mr Vogel, stating that in the Licensing Act to be brought before the Assembly next session a provision would be introduced for giving greater facilities for obtaining wholesale licenses.

The secretary laid upon the table the annual reports of the Melbourne and Hobart Town Chambers of Commerce.

Mr Murray-Aynsley was elected a member of the committee in the room of Mr Banks, resigned. The committee then adjourned,

There had not been time to receive replies from the Chambers of Commerce, and the only reply from the members had been from Mr Beeves, who declined to pledge himself to vote for any particular Act, but that he would give the matter consideration.
