Feb. 8. in .a court filled with horrified listeners, Frau Kardos, who was recently condemned to death, turned on her former friend, Szolnok Mario Varga, and charged her with murdering her war-blinded husband, her lover and the hitter’s grandfather, so that she may not have to go to tho gallows lalono. She declared that she heard Varga offer five hundredweight of wheat to a midwife, Aunt SuzauixA. to kill the husband of Kardos and tadded that be died in horrible agony. She had killed her own husband and son and, therefore, knew how they died. Her desire for vengeance failed as Varga escaped the death sentence, but is to serve hard labor for life.
