ANNUAL MEETING The Gisborne Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting held. Just evening was attended by fifteen members, thei president, Mr H. F. Forster, occupying the chair. In moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, which have been already published, the president stated there were 114 members of the Chamber hut it was nowhere near tlie,number it should le, as it did not represent nearly sot fully as. it should the commercial interests of the town. It behoved every member to stress the need of becoming members to their colleagues in commerce. Tlie speaker then, proceeded to review the activities of the Chamber during the past year as'outlined in the report, touching on the railway route, laud settlement and other topics upon-which the Chamber ' had made insistent representations for .improvements. In these activities, he said, he had received splendid assistance from the executive. The motion was seconded by Mr 0. G. Bloorei, who congratulated the president on the successful control of the Chamber, and carried unanimously. Officers elected for the enuing year vp,ar are as follows: President, Mr H. F. Forster (re-elected), vice-p-esident, Mr L. Miles; council, Messrs H. Holder ness. E. Tolerton, T. Corson, CL G>. Bloore. T. G. Lawless. J. Blair. J. Chrisp, T. E. Tonoycliffo, H. H. DeCosta. H. J. Edwards, F. R). Ball, L. T. Barnard, F. W. Rlarohj Ei. T. Doddrel, C. EL Armstrong, F. Bay ley, J. Peacock, A. C. Dixon. , It was unanimously decided to invite . the Stationm aster, ; Postmaster, and Resident Engineer of the P.W.D. to become, honorary members of. the Chamber, it being stated that the advice of these officers would be invalua’le when questions affecting hu;nlN v/'v'-b- ;-r;
