In one district 50in. have fallen since December 14. Flood warnings have been issued concerning. the Mary and Brisbane rivers, which are still rising. Enormous damage has been done, but the full extent cannot yet be ascertained.

The town of Woodford has been isolated since Saturday, all the bridges leading to it being submerged.

The weather is now clearing, and it is hardly likely the river will overflow its banks, though turbulent waters are sweeping through the city and are carrying dead cattle, pigs, and branches of trees. The water is also thick with dead fish.

There has been much activity in the city shifting,, goods to higher levels. The low-lying parts in the metropolitan area are miniature lakes. Wash-aways and landslides are still reported inland. —U.P.A.
