The Gazette’s Rome correspondent states that a manuscript, alleged to be a new Gospel, has been discovered in the township of Cerignola 1 . Though experts are or opinion that it is worthless, offers to purchase the document are pouring in, including a rumored bid of £400.0d0 from Henry Ford—Sun. (Received Jan. 27 ,11.10 p.m.) " LONDON, Jan. 26. A Rome correspondent says that the alleged fifth Gospel discovery is fast developing into a mystery story. He says a letter by Signor Gardella, to a local newspaper declaring the Gospel is a forgery was written in order to arouse a religious' controversy on the nature of Christ, with a view to assisting the sale of a new “Romance of the Life of Christ” Signor Mottia, owner of the Gospel, adheres to- the story that the writer received the document as compensation for services rendered a wandering Tew upon Monte Gargano. where the .
