FELL INTO VAT OF BOILING GUM. AUCKLAND, Jan. 2-5. The man named Littleton who was burned about the feet at* Sweet water last week through falling into a vat of boiling gum, died in the. Maunga • nui Hospital.—P.A. MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED. CHRISTCHURCH, Jan 25. About 12.30 o’clock this morning a man named Joe Robinson, while riding a motor cycle at the intersection of Cashel Stret and East Belt, came into collision with a motor-car. Robinson, who sustained head injuries and a fractured left ankle, was admitted to hospital seriously injured.—P.A. WOMAN FOUND DEAD. HASTINGS, Jan. 25. On forcing an entrance to the residence of Sophie Emily Claridge, Gb, married, who was living alone anu who was of an eccentric disposition, the police found her dead yesterday, the body being in a decomposed condition.
