Detecting an outbreak of fire in a boarding-house at Tempy early yesterday, Mr. Roy Hevlanci rushed into a bedroom where his two sisters Kathleen, aged 11, and A!avis, aged 6, were sleeping. He canglie hold of both but released Mavis, to push open the door. Mavis rushed back into the flames. The brother brought Kathleen out, and tried to get back again, and, although the smoko and flames were too thick, he had to he dragged awav.

Both Kathleen and her brother were taken to the hospital, and are in a critical condition, suffering from burns and shock. The charred body of Alavis was recovered fronn the debris.
