“HEAD MOVED”

DREAM WASN’T TRUE. NOT BURIED ALIVE. MELBOURNE, Oct. 24. Detectives were engaged last week in investigating a report that a man who was supposed to have' died while being taken to the Alfred Hospital, had been buried alive.

Detective Grieve, in a special report to the Coroner, said that there was no real foundation for the allegation. The report had been made by a nervous relative, who on placing her hand on the face of the- corpse shortly before burial, had formed the distinct impression that the head had moved. Nothing was said until about two days after tho funeral, when the re.ative bad a terrible dream that the man had been buried alive.

The facts are those: Un September 30 the man was seized with a paralytic stroke. He was placed in the ambulance, but was dead before the hospital was reached. The body remained in the hospital mortuary all night, and was taken to the man’s home next day. It was there time the relative had the experience winch led her to believe that tho man was not dead.
