Patterson, interviewed, said that he had no false ideas about their play iu America. They were very satisfied to get into the challenge round and never hoped to win, but thought that they might have won one match. The team did all that was expected of them. For himself, ho had “gone to the pack,” although lie- might still continue to get a good deal of enjoyment out of the game. At the same time, he denied that he was “off colour” ir; any cf the matches. Patterson said that Tilderi, above ail, as a player stood akineas the world’s jir.-.t exponent of tho game. He added that there was nothing in the rumour.-; that Tiit.cn was retiring. He did not think the people would let him retire. Anyway, he had tried to induce Tiidcn to visit Australia but has failed. However, they might have an American team next year, including the Kinsey Brothers and Richards.—U.P.A.
