ATHLETICS.

The Hibernian Society lias consented to take on the management of the Gisborne Annual Sports and will probably hold a meeting on or about March 17th to celebrate St. Patrick s Day. At the last meeting of the Society on the motion of Mr. W. liackett, a resolution was passed thanking Mr E. "Williams for the good work he had done in the past, the position ot secretary for tho sports having been held by him for 14 years. The Rev. Father Lane and Mr. Segedin also spoke in support of the motion, and it was resolved that a letter of thanks be drafted and forwarded to Mr. Williams. Under the new arrangement the secretary of the Hibernian Society (Mr. v Segedin) becomes the secretary for the St. Patrick’s sports.
