THAMES BY-ELECTION.
PUBLIC INTEREST CUiET. SECOND BALLOT ANTICIPATED. (Press Association.) THAMES, Jan. 27. The by-election takes place tomorrow. Mr Lucas has been selected as the Government candidate. Alessrs Taylor and Rhodes are Government supporters. Air Haselden lias been selected as the Opposition candidate. Air Drebell supports the Opposition. The Hon. Air AXcGowan is supporting Air Lucks’ candidature. The election is not exciting great interest. The general opinion is that there will be a second ballot. r
