GISBORNE HIGH SCHOOL.
APPOINTMENT OF FIRST A&SISTA NT MASTER. ' A mooting of the Gisborne High School Board was hold yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs C. A. deLantour (chairman), J. YV, Bright, A. F. Matthews, J. Coleman, J. W. Nolan, and R. Johnston. Ten applications for the position of first assistant master were received, and considered, and Air. F. J. Wilkes/ M.A., of the 'Marten District JEigh School, was unanimously neleet&l for the position. Mr. Willies, who is 32 years of age, has had considerable experience in secondary school work. Ho was for four years lecturer in science, history, and algebra, to "students at the Normal Training College, Christchurch, three years teacher of secondary classes in the Alotueka District High School, and three years at the same work in the Mart-oil District High Schoo’. He is a married man. Jus had a successful university-., career, and is highly spoken of as a teacher. The Gisborne High School will open in tho Technical School on Aloudav next, at 9 a.m.
