NAPIER, Jan. 26

The Prime Minister arrived in Napier this evening, and remains here till Friday, when lie leaves for the north by .steamer.

The Mayor (Mr. W. D. Lysnar) received advice from the Hon. J. Carroll on Monday evening, stating that Sir Joseph Ward '•would cal) at Gisborne on Saturday next for the purpose of enquiring into tho matter' of tlie grazing runs. Mr. Lysnar yesterday received another telegram from the Hon. J. Carroll; stating that the Prime Minister would arrive in Gisborne oil Saturday morning, and proK:ecd by the same steamer that, afterlooif: also, that it was impossible, for Mr. Carroll to get away at the same time. He regretted not being able to l/e present in Gisborne while Sir Joseph Ward, was here.
