AUCKLAND HARBOR BOARD ACCEPTS SECOND TENDER BECAUSE ENGLISH.

The Harbor Board, at its meeting to-day, decided by seven votes to' throe not to accept the lowest tender lor twelve large cranes, which was that of a German firm. The second tender, that of an English firm, was accepted. After adding tho ten per cent preferential duty to the amount of the German tender, it was £293 lower than that of the English firm.
