POVERTY BAY ASSOCIATION

The usual weekly meeting of the Poverty Buy Cricket Association was held last evening at. the British Empire Hotel, Mr. W. F. CedenvaOl (President) presiding. A letter was received from the Tokomaru Club inviting a team from the Association to visit Tokomaru before Christmas.—lt was decided to reply that it would be impossible to send a team this year, owing to the visit of the Poverty _ Diy team to Hawke’s Bay at Christmas time,, but an effort would be made to send a team to Tokomaru after the New Y r ear. - Tho selection committee were instructed to meet at the British Empire Hotel on Friday evening at 8 o’clock, and select 15 pbayers from those available for the trip to Napier to attend regular net practice. The following draw was made for the second round in the Thursday competition: United v. Te Rau, chip wicket; Union v. Cosmopolitan, concrete pitch. Two days will be devoted to each Thursday competition match in future.

A general meeting of the Association was held at the conclusion of the meeting of the management committee, when several -amendments to the rules were made. The meeting was adjourned until next Tuesday evening, when the revision of the rules will he further considered.
