NELSON, Dec. 8. The “Colonist” to-day warmly advocates the claims of Mr. R. MacKenzie, member for Motuelca, to the portfolio of Public Works. After alluding to Mr. MaoKenzie’s qualifications as an. experienced contractor and a successful and popular lreprer tentative for a very long period, the article points out that neither Nelson, Westland, nor Marl borough lias a representative in the Cabinet, • hough formerly they had one each, and that Mr. 'MacKonzie’s appointment,. while it would gratify these provinces, would he acceptable to the Dominion as a whole.
