GISBORNE CLUB

Saturday was tho last day on which games in the first round of tho handicap pairs of the Gisborne Bowling Club were to be played. Two such games wore got off, and a commencement was made with tho play in the second, round. Some practice games were also played. There was a good •muster of players, who spent a very enjoyable afternoon. The results of tho play were as follows: HANDICAP PAIRS. (First Round.)

Puvitt and J. J. Martin (sub) 23, beat Boulton and Ponsford 11.

■Paltridge and W. Pettio (sub) 27, beat Traill and Hookey 18. (Second Round.) Seymour and Witty 25, beat J". F. Pettio and Gu-udiu 22. OTHER GAMES.

Kohn and Cunningham 20, beat Collins and Bright 17. Dodds, Wootton, and Corson (skip) 26, beat Colebrooke, Wilson, and Simson (skip) 16.

TUItANGANUI CLUB. There was a very good muster on the green of the TumnganuVClub on Saturday afternoon. The green played very keen, and an enjoyable time was experienced. No matches were got off, play being confined to practice. A number of tlie games in the handicap pairs will be played this week, beginning this afternoon. The final in the handicap fours between Colley’s land Williamsons’ irinks will also be got off this week. Entries arc being taken for singles, in the Bennett Cup competition, t-lie list for which is to close in a fortnight’s time. The list of members willing to take part in the Napier tournament closed on Saturday. Eight mines have been handed in, and the rink to represent the club will! be picked early this week.
