Failing in their attempt to assassinate President Nord Alexis, the mob at Port-au-Prince pillaged the shops and houses. They fought amongst themselves, and four were killed. Ultimately General Poidovin and a party of soldiers and citizens fired on the mob, killing twelve men. Order ivas then restored.
