At.tlie Supremo Court to-day Donald Dunn McLeod obtained 'a decree niisi against his wife, Annie Margaret MacLeod, on the ground of adultery with F. W. Hulnio, against whom evidence was given. James Beach also obtained a decree nisi against his wife, Emily L. Beach, on similar grounds, the co-respondent being Fred. Frew. Costs were allowed against Frew.

At the Supreme. Court a decree nisi was granted i*i the case James "Walt Munro v. Elizabeth Munro, on the ground of misconduct with Joseph Snelgar, co-respondent. Evidence' was given that respondent- and 'corespondent were living in Gisborne as mail and wife.

At the Supreme Court, in the case of the second trial of Wm. Thomas Gibson, charged with having improper relations with his wife’s cousin, a girl under tlio ago of 16 years, at Waihi, the jury, after a hearing extending over two days,, found a verdict of “not guilty.” IN VERC Alt GILL, Dec. 1. Harold Barlow, eighteen years of age, pleaded guilty to a criminal assault on a girl seven,<years of age. The lad is a musician travelling with a theatrical company. Tlio grand jury found no hid on the indictment against David Cochrane, secretary of the Frozen Meat Company, charged with perjury in the civil action AVatson Bros v: the Company, for value of sheep shipped by the Turakinu ivithout plaintiff’s instructions.

This afternoon the ease in which Reginald Day, late secretary of the Southland Char it able Aid Board, was charged with having stolen two sums, £137 7s 10c! and £Bl4 6s, and with having' fraudulently omitted to mako credit entries for those sums in his cash hook, was heard. Mr. McAlister appeared for the prosecution, iuid Messrs Hanlon and Long for the accused. The jury retired at 6.36, were locked up for the full time allowed, and disagreed. A new trial will bo hold to-morrow. WELLINGTON. Dec. 1. John Butler, la wharf laborer, was tried the third time at the Supremo Court to-day oil a. charge of’ having assaulted another wharf laborer named Anton Larsen. He wets found guilty, and seiitenco was deferred. Walter A. Lindsay was charged with indecently assaulting a Maori lad. The jury ft tiled to agree, and the ■prisoner will be tried again.
