Germany’s naval estimates for 1909 are three millions sterling above tlie current year. £10,988,000, or an increase of £2,437,520 is devoted to works under non-recurring expenditure. new construction and armaments. Seven millions will be apportioned to new construction, whereof £4,250,000 will bo met by a loan and the remainder by ordinary revenue. Tlie estimates provide first- appropriations for three Dreadnoughts, one Indomitable, two small cruisers, twelve destroyers, and some submarines.
