FOOT AND MOUTH DISEASE IN AMERICA. PENNSYLVANIA AND NEW YORK f - QUARANTINED. United Press Association,- Copyright. NEW 'YORK, Nov. 21. The stockyards., at East Buffalo have been closed pending the investigation of supposed foot, and mouth disease. The States of Pennsylvania and New York have been quarantined. THE EFFECT ON TRADE TO BRITAIN. AMERICAN EXPORTS WILL DECREASE. (Received Nov. 22, 4.25 p.m) .
LONDON, Nov. 21
The Armour Company’s London agents state that the quarantine will probably decrease the. United States shipments of meat by 25 per cent. An immediate rise is unlikely, as the market is not very well supplied. New York exporters agree that exports to Britain will undergo serious curtailment, but the quarantine will not affect Boston, Baltimore and Portland.
