PHYSICAL CULTURE.
-ST. ANDREW’S CLASS
The competition for medals in connection with the St. Andrew’s Physical Culture Class took place on Friday evening last, Messrs Goldsmith and Mitchell acting as judges. There were twelve entries for the medal competition, but unfortunately three of the boys were indisposed, so that only nine faced the judges. The boys were paraded and 1 put through some of the exercises by the instructor, Rev. V r m. Grant, after which their mcasnreinents were taken. A gold -and silver medal were given in each of three dlasses. In the first class (the most symetrically developed boy) the judges had; some difficulty, in coming to ia decision, the gold medal (finally going tt> Ben Hawkins, and the silver, medal to Lance Davys. Lance Davys also took tlie gold medal for chest expansion, his brother [Edmund being second. Oswald Church was a good third. For general improvement on the measurements, Wallace Nesbitt took the gold Jmedal, with a total increase over all his measurements of 8-g- inches. Oswald Church won the silver medal, with 7-} inches, and Edmund Davys was .a good third with 6«- inches. Cheers were given for the winners, tho instructor, the judges, and for those who presented tho medalh, Messrs Grieve, McKee, Riach, Smith, and a lady who does not desire to be known.
