CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION. The championship matches were continued on Saturday afternoon, in perfect cricketing weather. Wanderers easily accounted for Taraheru at the latter’s ground, while at the Domain there v r as an exciting finish in the United-T'e Ran match. United continued their first innings, and totalled 112, and on Te Itau going in a second time they were all disposed of for 57 runs, at 5.45. This left_ United 13 runs to obtain a 3-point win, and, with the interval of ten minutes, five minutes in which to get them. Carisbrook A beat Albion by an innings -and three runs (the former making 189 and the latter 74 and 103); Butler (Carisbrook) took 9 wickets for 31 and 5 for 19. Opoho boat Dunedin by 60 runs on the first innings; the former made 139 (Kenny 57 not out)), and 21 for five wickets, and Dunedin 79 and 124 for nine wickets. Grange (116) beat Carisbrook B (83) by 33 runs on the first innings.
