THE ANGLIGAN SYNOD.
THE XO-LIOEXSE VOTE
[To THE EdITOH.] Sir,—lt was a pity Air. Sheridan was unable to be at the Rev. Air. AA’h itehouse's meeting last Tuesday, as he would have found that it was not only the accuracy of the figures of the Anglican Synod's vote that wore challenged, but a great many others besides. And even now, instead of Air. Sheridan acknowledging his error in regard to the Synod vote, he reiterates it in another form by saying that ‘-the motion to recommend no-license was negatived by a substantial majority.” The fact r.s r' stated by Air. AYhitehouse was the exact opposite of this, for the vtting was as follows: —Ayes: Clergy 2;?, laity 8: Noes: Clergy 10. laity 22. AYhich. if I understand figures correctly. represents a xotit of 37 ayes and 32 noes. a majority in favor of no-license, and not against it. It was further stated, that all those who had had experience of no-license acted with the aveg.—l am, etc.. “CORRECTION.”
